This video cassette contains footage of the ceremony for the one-year anniversary of the signing of the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990. President Bush remarks that the ADA has inspired many Americans, and thanks members of Congress for their support. The President urges the federal government to set an example for the rest of the nation by hiring more disabled people. Secretary Sullivan and Attorney General Thornburgh are present. After concluding his remarks, the President greets the audience. President Bush accepts a book containing signatures of more than 6,000 disabled Americans in support of the first comprehensive act for the disabled. The President departs.
