This collection consists of 58 series of subject files based on 58 broad subject classifications developed by the Office of Records Management during the Kennedy Administration to facilitate the filing and retrieval of White House records. These records pertain to the functions and operations of the White House, Federal Government, foreign and other governments. These records also contain correspondence from private companies or individuals.

Subject Files on Republic of Costa Rica

This series contains forms, letters, memos, notes, papers, and remarks related to Costa Rica. Documents include letters from the government officials and the general public on environmental issues in Costa Rica. Other topics discussed are the appointment of a new US Ambassador to Costa Rica and sending the Milwaukee Repertory Theater Company to the International Theater Festival for Peace. There are also letters between President Bush from Costa Rican Presidents Arias and Calderon. Also included are routine forms and transmittal memos.
