This collection consists of 58 series of subject files based on 58 broad subject classifications developed by the Office of Records Management during the Kennedy Administration to facilitate the filing and retrieval of White House records. These records pertain to the functions and operations of the White House, Federal Government, foreign and other governments. These records also contain correspondence from private companies or individuals.

Subject Files on Norway
This series contains government forms, correspondence, a paper, a statement, and a declassified memorandum of conversation related to Norway. Several topics are covered in the correspondence and include the United States government's participation in a regional conference on European sustainable economic development and the death of King Olav V. Other subjects address the visits of Prime Ministers Gro Harlem Brundtland and Jan Syse to Washington, D.C., Norwegian government changes, and a presidential message to the King and Queen for Norway's Constitution Day. Of special note is Prime Minister Brundtland's speech made at the opening of the United National Conference on Environment and Development held in Rio de Janeiro in June 1992. The memorandum of conversation between President Bush and Prime Minister Brundtland covers multiple world topics.
