This collection consists of 58 series of subject files based on 58 broad subject classifications developed by the Office of Records Management during the Kennedy Administration to facilitate the filing and retrieval of White House records. These records pertain to the functions and operations of the White House, Federal Government, foreign and other governments. These records also contain correspondence from private companies or individuals.

Subject Files on Papua New Guinea

This series contains government forms, correspondence, lists, and unclassified biographies related to Papua New Guinea. There are letters from Moses Werror, chairman of the OPM Revolutionary Council in West Papua Niugini to President Bush, the prime minister of the Netherlands and the president of the Republic of Indonesia which address the desire for independence from Indonesian military government occupation. There are also memos which discuss a meeting between President Bush and Prime Minister Rabbie Namaliu. The lists reflect the participants of this meeting. Lastly, there are unclassified biographies of cabinet-level Papuan government officials.
