Plastic pollution, particularly in our oceans, is one of the most pressing consumer and environmental issues that we face today.Oceans of Plasticis a strangely beautiful collection of art made from plastics acquired from beaches along the Texas Gulf Coast. Artist and beachcomber Shelia Rogers compiled and arranged the trash to highlight the true impact of plastics on our wildlife and oceanic habitats.Oceans of Plasticchallenges each visitor to make small lifestyle changes that will reduce the amount of plastics waste each of us create, and collectively changing the course of plastic pollution and saving our oceans and beaches.

Along with theOceans of Plasticexhibit, we will be featuringGeorge Bush: An Environmental President. This exhibit will outline President Bushs environmental initiatives, including the Clean Air Act Amendment, the Everglades National Park Expansion Act, the Antarctic Protection Act, and the Oceans Act. We will also have artifacts related to environmental conservation efforts from across the globe.

Oceans of Plasticwill be on exhibit July 1, 2021, until July 5, 2022.
