Records on the European and Soviet Directorate

FOIA 2011-0003-F includes all records from the European and Soviet Directorate Series of the National Security Council Files. This collection consists of briefing books international summits and presidential trips. The briefing books contain correspondence, papers, and lists. The correspondence consists of declassified internal National Security Council Staff correspondence routing classified documents and correspondence from Congress, such as a letter from a senator addressing economic issues to be discussed at the Malta Summit. Unclassified papers provide background on summit events and on issues such as the environment and the U.S. economy to be discussed at the Paris Economic Summit, and the UN budget and Peacekeeping missions to be discussed at the United Nations General Assembly.
