The materials in FOIA 1998-0354-F are a selective, not necessarily all inclusive, body of documents responsive to the topic of the FOIA. Researchers should consult the archivist about related materials. FOIA 1998-0354-F contains material related to the Bush administration's policies concerning education, particularly efforts to promote international education. Most prominent are records dealing with the United States' involvement with the World Conference on Education for All, which was held in Jomtien, 1998-0354-F 1 Thailand in March 1990. These documents are found in the First Lady's Office, Projects Files and were compiled by Julie Cooke, who attended the conference on behalf of the First Lady. Other information located in these files relates to the Support for East European Democracy (SEED) Act of 1989 and comparisons of education in the United States to educational practices in various other countries. There is also limited information on the general education policies of the Bush administration. Read less
