The occasion was a trip by Mrs. Bush to West Middlesex and Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, to attend a reception for Tom Ridge's Congressional campaign and, after that, a church service in celebration of the 100 th anniversary of the Universalist Church building. The church was built on the site of the home of Mrs. Bush's ancestor, General James A. Pierce. The Staff and Office Files contain correspondence, expense reports, invitations, memoranda, receipts, schedules, and travel authorizations. Records from the Office of Administration deal with the preparations for Mrs. Bush's trip to Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, including receipts and expense reports.
