FOIA 2007-0079-F contains materials relating to Vice President and Mrs. Bush's trip to Germany in January/February of 1983 (part of a larger European trip) and their later trip to Krefeld and Bottrop in June, 1983 to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the first emigration of Germans to America. 2007-0079-F 2 The Staff and Office Files consist of cables transmitting proposed Vice Presidential remarks, administrative scheduling details, press releases and statements; forms detailing gifts received by the Vice President and Mrs. Bush; memoranda concerning press guidance; Mrs. Bush's summary schedule for the European trip; photographs and newspaper clippings of Mrs. Bush's visit to a German school, speeches given by the Vice President during the course of the larger European trip in January and February; thank you letters from Mrs. Bush to their hosts and others who assisted during the trip;, and briefing papers on current issues in the various countries being visited.
