Subject Files on Newspaper, Magazines, Radio and TV Stations
This series contains anniversary messages to newspapers, magazines, radio, and television stations. Messages were also provided by the White House to regional and national gatherings of reporters, broadcasters, and writers. Other messages were sent to media outlets that were publishing or broadcasting special editions or series that interested the President, such as crime prevention and drug abuse. Also, there are many messages located in this sub-category that had no direct relation to the media. These generally involved requests from organizations that wanted messages from President Bush and planned to have them published. Finally, there were several messages provided to media outlets congratulating them for their public service during and after natural disasters. The vast majority of these related to Hurricane Hugo.
