Selected files from Nancy Bearg Dyke (NSC Director in International Programs from March, 1989 to November, 1992) and Heather Wilson (NSC Director in Defense Policy/Arms Control from November, 1989 to June, 1991) concern National Security Review (NSR)-4 (East European Relations), NSR-5 (West European Relations), NSR-12 (National Defense Strategy, available online at http://bushlibrary.tamu.edu/research/pdfs/nsr/nsr12.pdf), and NSR-24 (U.S. Government International Broadcasting Activities, available online at http://bushlibrary.tamu.edu/research/pdfs/nsr/nsr24.pdf). The Staff and Office Files contain agendas, articles, cables, cover sheets, forms, letters, memoranda, notes, press briefings, and reports. These materials consist of agendas, correspondence, memoranda, and lists detailing NSR-24 working group meetings, published reports on public diplomacy, newspaper and magazine articles regarding international broadcasting, and letters from constituents and Members of Congress regarding the importance of international broadcasting, U.S. Department of States Daily Press Briefings, cables of press accounts of Radio Free Europe and the international broadcasting review, and opinion papers on various well-known aspects of international broadcasting. Also present are resource papers and drafts of the fourth report responding to NSR-12, "The Role of Arms Control in Promoting U.S. Defense Objectives and Strategy".
