FOIA 2009-0786-F contains materials from the National Security Council. 2009-0786-F 2 The Staff and Office Files contain memoranda, cables, and printouts by individual staff members and offices relating to US relations with the United Kingdom (UK). The Craig Chellis files contain cables related to European defense, NATO and the Rome NATO Summit, the Maastricht Treaty, and various meetings between officials of the US and UK governments. The Barry Lowenkron Files contain cables and memoranda regarding the 1989 NATO Summit, and two visits by Prime Minister John Major to Camp David in 1992. The White House Situation Room Files contain printouts of all incoming and outgoing messages sent between White House officials, including the President, and their counterparts in the UK during the Bush administration. The messages contained within each were sent via secured Cabinet Office channels and relate to Anglo-American relations and to world affairs including the Gulf War, NATO, the collapse of the Soviet Union, and the 1992 US election. Each printout was created at the end of the Bush administration in January of 1993. The Heather Wilson Files contain memoranda, biographies, and cables related to a 1989 visit to the US by John Major in his capacity as UK Foreign Secretary. Read less
