The materials in FOIA 2002-1482-F[1] and FOIA 2002-1482-F[2] are a selective, not necessarily all inclusive, body of documents responsive to the topic of the FOIA. Researchers should consult the archivist about related materials. FOIA 2002-1482-F[1] contains George Bush Presidential materials related to entertainer Bob Hope. This request is primarily comprised of letters and memoranda to President George Bush inviting him and First Lady Barbara Bush to attend and/or address events hosted by Mr. Hope in honor of United States military personnel (the schedules, itinerary, and guest information relating to these events are also included). Similar requests are included which were made for events in honor of Mr. Hope or raising funds for the several charitable and philanthropic organizations with which he was involved. Much of the direct correspondence between President Bush and Mr. Hope that was included in the request are personal records and have been closed accordingly. The White House Office of Records Management (WHORM) Alphabetical Files contain letters from Paul M. Allen, Phillip Bretz, Mike Fritschen, and Bob Hope. The WHORM Subject File categories contain memoranda to President George Bush inviting him and First Lady Barbara Bush to attend and/or address events hosted by Mr. Hope in honor of United States military personnel (the schedules, itinerary, and guest information relating to these events are also included.) The Staff and Office Files contain correspondence, memoranda, and video regarding events in honor of Mr. Hope or raising funds for the several charitable and philanthropic organizations with which he was involved.
