Researchers should consult the archivist about related materials. 2001-1865-F 2 FOIA 2001-1865-F contains materials on the Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA) of 1990. These Staff and Office Files contain records consist of incoming letters, memoranda, reports, and printed material. Letters include routine correspondence from organizations such as the Environment Defense Fund, the Utility Air Regulatory Group, National Environmental Development Association, and the American Paper Institute/National Forest Products Association supporting or opposing specific provisions of the CAAA. There are unsolicited recommendations for individuals being considered for different positions in the administration. Also included is correspondence between staff of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and congressional committees regarding routine information requests. Memoranda discussing the implementation and enforcement of the provisions of the CAAA are also included. There are drafts of different legislative rules responsive to CAAA, their notices in the Federal Registry, and public comments responsive to these notices. In addition to this, is a compilation of CAAA mandated studies and research reports from 1990 and a summary of President Bush's regulatory reform initiative. Fact sheets and discussion materials concerning the Navajo Generating Station and its effect on Grand Canyon visibility are also included. Printed materials include news clippings, articles, and editorials on the CAAA and President Bush's record on the environment from publications such as Inside EPA, the Arizona Daily Star, the New York Times, and the Washington Post.
