The materials in FOIA 1999-0093-F are a selective, not necessarily all-inclusive, body of documents responsive to the topic of the FOIA. Researchers should consult the archivist about related materials. FOIA 1999-0093-F contains material related to the national space policy during the Reagan and Bush 2 1999-0093-F Administrations. This includes records on the space shuttle, the Space Station, international space cooperation, and the President's Space Exploration Initiative (which called for a moon / Mars mission). A large segment of this request consists of the Quayle Vice Presidential Records of the National Space Council, of which Vice President Quayle was the head and Mark Albrecht the Executive Secretary (succeeded by Brian Dailey in 1992). Included in this request are the Bush Presidential Records WHORM Subject File categories for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (FG185) and the National Space Council (FG467). Material consists of published articles and reports, routine internal memoranda, and correspondence from the public, Congress, and administration officials. A significant amount of material responsive to this FOIA is contained in the files of the National Security Council (NSC). Although these files are listed, it should be noted that most of these documents are security classified and have been closed under the restrictions of the Presidential Records Act and the Freedom of Information Act. These documents deal with topics such as international space cooperation, space launched vehicles, and national security issues. Read less
