Researchers should consult the archivist about related materials. - 1 - 2001-1360-F This FOIA request contains materials related to Dana Carvey, Chuck Norris, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports (PCPF&S) and the National Physical Fitness Classic held in Houston, Texas on May 4, 1984. As such, this FOIA request contains material from both the presidential and vice presidential collections of George H.W. Bush. The WHORM Subject Files contain some routine correspondence President Bush and Dana Carvey, and between President Bush and Chuck Norris, however the bulk of the material relates to Arnold Schwarzenegger and the PCPF&S. Correspondence between Schwarzenegger and President Bush primarily consists of routine notes of thanks, well wishes and congratulations. The WHORM Alphabetical Files contain correspondence between President George Bush and the celebrities Dana Carvey, Chuck Norris, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The bulk of the Staff and Office Files are also primarily related to Arnold Schwarzenegger and the (PCPF&S). The President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports was created by an executive order of President Eisenhower in 1956. Copies of executive orders related to the President's Council on Physical Fitness and materials published by the PCPF&S are included in this FOIA request. Also included are documents relating to personnel appointments to the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Information on the Great American Workout on the White House Lawn is also included. The Vice Presidential Name File contains general correspondence to and from the President to both Chuck Norris and Arnold Schwarzenegger along with a photocopy of a picture of President Bush and Chuck Norris. The Vice Presidential Staff and Office Files contain a file pertaining to the National Physical Fitness Classic held in Houston, Texas on May 4, 1984. Materials include letters, notes, itinerary, and photos. A printed booklet with a general information packet about the National Fitness Classic is also included in this FOIA request. Read less
