The materials in FOIA 2008-0062-F are a selective, not necessarily all inclusive, body of documents responsive to the topic of the FOIA. Researchers should consult the archivist about related materials. FOIA 2008-0062-F contains materials from the White House Office of Records Management (WHORM) Alphabetical File and the Office of Vice President George Bush Invitation Subject File. The WHORM Alphabetical File consists of a letter from Esther G. Buckley to President Bush requesting that he autograph for her supervisor, a photograph of President Bush and Mr. Vidal M. Trevino taken at a Mr. South Texas function in Laredo, Texas in 1970. A photocopy of the photo is attached and was auto- penned with President Bush's signature in response to this request. The Bush Vice Presidential Subject File consists of tracking sheets and letters. The first of two one page tracking sheets forwards an invitation letter for Vice President Bush to attend a 1988 high school commencement to the Office of the Vice President. The second tracking sheet is a scheduling file page used for the purpose of considering whether or not Vice President Bush would attend the event. There are a total of eight letters. In two handwritten one page letters, one to Vice President Bush and the other to his son George W. Bush, Esther G. Buckley of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights attempts to persuade the Vice President directly, as well as through George W. Bush, to strongly consider attending the high school commencement ceremony. The original two page invitation letter from Martin High School of Laredo, Texas to Vice President Bush and then a photocopy of the same letter are both attached to these correspondences. There is a one page letter from the Office of the Vice President to the Martin Class of 1988 thanking them for their invitation and notifies that their request is under consideration. There is a one page letter from Vice President Bush to Esther Buckley thanking her for her strong endorsement of the Martin High School invitation.
