Researchers should consult the archivist about related materials. FOIA 2011-2568-F contains material related to James A. Baker III, who served as Chief of Staff during the George H.W. Bush Administration from August 1992 to January 20, 1993. In addition to his White House duties, Baker also supervised the Bush re-election campaign. The records are divided among two record groups: Bush Presidential Records and Bush Vice Presidential Records. The majority of records are Bush Presidential Records. 2011-2568-F 2 The Bush Presidential Staff and Office Files include memoranda, correspondence, papers, talking points, remarks, and printed material maintained by individual staff members and offices. The memoranda consist of routine memoranda between White House staff members to Baker and other staff members. Memos relate to meeting schedules, suggested events, and monthly presidential nomination/appointment reports. Additional memos address upcoming legislative issues and domestic policy, including Hurricane Andrew briefing, status on the War on Drugs, health care reform, and the Tax Bill. Correspondence consists of unsolicited letters of suggestion and opinions from Congress members concerning the President's re-election campaign. Papers include issues papers for the Legislative Strategy Group related to the Crime Bill, the Education Bill, cable regulation, and family and medical leave, as well as a background paper on the Western Water Bill and Central Valley Project. Talking points include suggested points on the tax and energy bills. Remarks consists of the remarks made by Baker on August 13, 1992 as part of his resignation as Secretary of State. Printed material contains newspaper and magazine articles concerning profiles on Baker, and his replacement as Treasury Secretary, Nicholas Brady. The Bush Vice Presidential Staff and Office Files include memoranda. These materials consist of memos between White House staff addressing travel options on Air Force Two, appropriate use of official Vice President stationary, a scheduling request, and routine transmittal memos for attached information.
