FOIA 2007-0768-F contains five files from three collection areas and consists primarily of notes, draft responses, letters, invitations, speeches, biographical sketches, informational papers and pamphlets, and news articles. These materials are from the White House Office of Records Management Alphabetical and Subject Files, the White House Office of Personnel, Presidential Appointment Files, and the White House Office of Policy Development, Emily Mead's Files. 2007-0768-F 1 The documents consist primarily of letters of correspondence between both John Rangos Sr. and other members of his staff to the President and various White House staff members for the purpose of acquisitioning a leadership position on the board of directors for the President's Tree Trust program. Other letters included in these materials offer invitation to various White House staff members to attend the 1991 Congressional Medal of Honor Society event in honor of Mr. Rangos. The draft responses consist of potential responses to Mr. Rangos after receipt of initial correspondence from himself or his staff at Chambers Development Company, Inc. Included notes are of an administrative nature for the purpose of forwarding various letters of correspondence to appropriate White House offices and staff members. The speeches within were those given by Mr. Rangos at the Congressional Medal of Honor Society Event. The biographical sketches are of background information about Mr. Rangos provided to the White House for the purpose of gaining influence for position on the board of directors for the President's Tree Fund program. Informational papers, pamphlets and various new articles provided by Mr. Rangos or his staff to the White House offer support by expressing his integrity and character, as well as his organization's frequent donations to various entities, such as the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Opera.
