The Bush presidential records consist of letters, memoranda, resumes, press releases, fact sheets, an invitation, newspaper articles, forms, and other printed material. Letters include correspondence between Lay and the White House concerning 2002-0910-F 2 Bush administration policies on the permanent investment tax credit, and Voluntary Restraint Arrangements on steel, and Public Utility Holding Company Act. Also included in this collection are letters containing Lay's unsolicited recommendations for presidential appointments to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and requests for presidential messages for events such as the Annual Brotherhood/Sisterhood Awards and the 1991 Heart Ball sponsored by the American Heart Association. This material includes a copy of the Motion for Stay and Request for Rehearing which Enron filed on October 18, 1991, in response to the revisions to regulations governing authorizations for construction of natural gas pipeline facilities. A congratulatory letter to Lay upon his receiving the "Man of Vision Award" from the Texas Society to Prevent Blindness and letters inviting Vice President Bush to attend the Texas Society's annual Father's Day picnic and to join the Dinner Committee of the National Conference of the Christians and Jews are included in this collection of records. There is an invitation a cocktail buffet honoring the inauguration of President Bush.
