The Bush presidential records consist of letters, memoranda, resumes, press releases, fact sheets, an invitation, newspaper articles, forms, and other printed material. Letters include correspondence between Lay and the White House concerning 2002-0910-F 2 Bush administration policies on the permanent investment tax credit, and Voluntary Restraint Arrangements on steel, and Public Utility Holding Company Act. Also included in this collection are letters containing Lay's unsolicited recommendations for presidential appointments to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and requests for presidential messages for events such as the Annual Brotherhood/Sisterhood Awards and the 1991 Heart Ball sponsored by the American Heart Association. The memoranda in this collection relate to personnel announcements forwarded to the Press Office for public release. The resumes are from appointees to the President's Export Council and the President's Commission on Environmental Commission. The press releases are announcements of presidential appointments to the President's Export Council and the President's Commission on Environmental Quality. The invitation in this collection is for a Houston Symphony Orchestra performance at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. The newspaper articles are from the Houston Chronicle and are about federal regulations on pipeline construction and the Houston Economic Summit. The forms include White House correspondence tracking sheets and redacted personnel information forms. This material includes a copy of the Motion for Stay and Request for Rehearing which Enron filed on October 18, 1991, in response to the revisions to regulations governing authorizations for construction of natural gas pipeline facilities. The Bush vice presidential records consist of letters, an invitation, a card and forms. A congratulatory letter to Lay upon his receiving the "Man of Vision Award" from the Texas Society to Prevent Blindness and letters inviting Vice President Bush to attend the Texas Society's annual Father's Day picnic and to join the Dinner Committee of the National Conference of the Christians and Jews are included in this collection of records. There is an invitation a cocktail buffet honoring the inauguration of President Bush. Also found in these records is a card from Vice President Bush to Ken Lay thanking him for his helpful suggestions. The forms are White House correspondence and scheduling file tracking sheets.
