The materials in FOIA 2005-0334-F are a selective, not necessarily all inclusive, body of documents responsive to the topic of the FOIA. Researchers should consult the archivist about related materials. FOIA 2005-0334-F contains cover sheets, which route other correspondence, and correspondence between White House staff, PCAST staff, and citizens related to international science and technology cooperation, the relationship between the Department and Defense and university-based science research, the science and technology budget, and administrative issues including the establishment of PCAST, personnel selection, and PCAST member travel requests. Also included are reports on international science and technology cooperation, technology policy, the relationship of technology to the American standard of living, High Performance Computing and Communications, and science education. The proposal seeks to establish international institutes for global change research in Europe and Asia. It should be noted that many of the documents listed here are security classified and have been closed under the restrictions of the Freedom of Information Act. Read less
