The materials in FOIA 1998-0188-F are a selective, not necessarily all inclusive, body of documents responsive to the topic of the FOIA. Researchers should consult the archivist about related materials. FOIA 1998-0188-F contains letters, memoranda, reports, and printed material related to George Bush and former President Richard M. Nixon. The collection includes mostly routine letters from President Nixon to Bush from 1981 to 1992. Letters provide insights into President Nixon's foreign policy 1998-0188-F 1 expertise especially concerning China. However, much of this information is closed for national security purposes. Other more routine materials document President Bush's friendship with President Nixon and include thank you letters and invitations. Staff office files document President Bush's attendance at the dedication of the Richard M. Nixon Library and Birthplace in Yorba Linda, California. Included are planning documents, diagrams, and thank you letters. A large portion of the collection consists of materials documenting the release of President Nixon's tapes and records by the National Archives. The materials consist of memoranda, letters, and National Archives finding aids. Other materials include motions and appeals regarding President Nixon's then ongoing litigation with the federal government concerning his Presidential papers. Read less
